About Stuart R.:

History and related social studies are my passion. On-going reading in history, biography, politics, government, sociology, education, and geography are how I fill my spare time hours. My BA in History at The American University gave me exposure to great teachers and original research methods in the Library of Congress and the National Archives. I took my Master's of Education at Cabrini College in suburban Philadelphia; that program was primarily geared to classroom teachers. I earned my PA certificate in secondary social studies while earning my Master's. I do tutoring for elementary reading and math students in a commercial program in Philadelphia. My style is one of "high expectations." Students and I will arrive at an agreement of expected levels of achievement. We will then work together to meet those expectations. As we progress, new agreements are put in place, and together we achieve more.
