I'm a professor of ethnomusicology at several universities. I also edit a journal and write books and articles. I've almost completed by doctorate from the University of Ghana (West Africa) where I lived for 7 years. My educational background includes studies in religion, social sciences such as sociology and anthropology, and world musics. I play and teach dozens of percussion instruments from around the world.
