ACT I tutor the Reading, English, and Essay Sections of the ACT, including strategies, grammar, writing, and practice with real problems. I have tutored these sections of the ACT successfully for 3 years. elementary (k-6th) I am certified in Massachusetts to teach Grades K-8. I taught Grade 5 for two years amd Grade 6 for four years. I planned and taught all areas of the curriculum in both self-contained and departimentalized classroom settings. I have been an elementary and middle school tutor for 10 years. ESL/ESOL I have a Proliteracy America Tutor Training Certificate in ESL/Literacy. I have tutored children, individually, and adults, individually and in classes, in ESL. I teach reading, writing, vocabulary, communication and pronunciation. I have tutored ESL successfully fr 3+ years. phonics I have a Wilson Reading Certificate. The Wilson Reading System is a multi-sensory, structured phonic (decoding) and spelling (encoding) program. It is based on Orton-Gillingham which was developed at the Massachusetts General Hospital for non-readers. It is appropriate for student in Grades 4+ who are two or more years behind in Reading. Fundations ( developed by Barbara Wilson) is a phonics and spelling program for all students in Grades K-3. I have tutored the Wilson Reading System and Fundations successfully for 8 years. I adapt the program to meet the needs of the individual student,using other materials as indicated.
