About
Jeffrey: |
|
Hello, and welcome to my site! My name is Jeffrey, and I am currently a Ph.D candidate in the Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics program at the University of Maryland, College Park. Aside from coursework, I am active in research, teaching, graduate government, and musical ensembles on campus. I also enjoy good movies and books, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
On an academic note, teaching is one of the activities I can honestly say I enjoy the most. I love working with people, and always find that teaching truly is a two-way street in that both parties have an amazing potential to learn from each other. Teaching is not about making sure all work gets completed "perfectly" or that you are the top student in your class (though these things may be undeniably important); it is about providing you, the student, with a set of skills that you can utilize in any course at any time. It is about giving you the confidence and power to succeed.
How, then, can I help you achieve that goal? Below you will find a list of my credentials; I encourage you to take the time to review them and to contact me with any concerns or questions you may have. I have had the pleasure of working with many diverse groups in many diverse academic settings and look forward to hearing from you as well! Thank you, and take care!

Jeffrey's Experience:
general music
|
I began my musical training in the 4th grade where I was taught to play both the saxophone and piano. I found very quickly that I enjoyed the opportunities music presented me-- the chance to learn something new, to meet new people, to play a diverse array of pieces, etc.
I have been fortunate enough to spend several years in concert, jazz, pep, and marching bands, and continue to play to this day. In fact, my continuing interest in music led me to pursue a minor in music during my undergraduate career at Ursinus College, where I was trained in music theory, history and performance.
Best of all, music is truly something that anyone can enjoy, from the player to the composer to the listener. I look forward to working with you as you develop an appreciation for music!
