About
Patrick: |
|
I was born in Paris, France and traveled extensively from the age of 15. I first emigrated to Israel where I became fluent in Hebrew. Later, I held a job as an apprentice cook at the Hilton Hotel in Tel-Aviv. When I returned to Europe, I found my vocation working with yotuh at risk which I have done until this day. In the course of my work, I expanded my expertise along the lines of People Handling, Teaching Techniques, and my knowledge of world history and people. My first son is deaf so I also sign. I spent 10 years in Asia as a social worker and youth coach/outreacher; that is where I learned Thai. I presently teach French, Hebrew, World History, Current Events and Bible in an alternative school in Eagle Creek, Oregon called T.R.E.C. Academy. I also privately tutor for French and Hebrew. |

My now 30 year old son went deaf at the age of 3. When my wife and I found out, I learned sign language at the INJS school for the deaf in Paris, I then taught it to my son.
I have since travelled and learned the basis of English SL, Indian SL and now American Sign Language. My preference in teasching both deaf and hearing is to use the Signing Exact English method.
