I have taken all the maths up through calculus and statistics, I have taken a sufficient amount of history focusing on Latin American specifically, I am near fluent in Spanish, and i have taken both college biology and physics, along with high school chemistry. I am patient and love to work with children. I have taken a year of sign language. I am ready for a challenge and love to teach. |

Bible studies

grammar
|
I went to a college prep highschool, Brookstone School, in Columbus, Georgia, where I studied grammar with Dr. Jim East. I consistently took advanced levels of English throughout highschool and finished in AP Literature. I now attend Wofford College, in Spartanburg, SC, and since it is a liberal arts school, I have taken two englishes at the college level as well. Throughout all of these classes I have written numerous essays where my grammar has had to be impeccable. This has kept my mind fresh of all of the rules of English grammar. In addition, I have studied Spanish for 6 years, and I feel as if the study of a foreign language reinforces the grammar for your own language, because in order to learn a new language, you must be able to figure out how the intricacies function in your own language.

sight singing
|
I have been singing since a very young age. By age 13 I was sightreading and auditioning to be in the GMEA All-State Chorus. Sightreading was a large portion of the audition, so throughout the years of middle school and high school I had to keep my skills fresh and I had to work with more difficult sightreading material each year in order to make the cut for the state chorus. In addition to solely working on sight reading, I also have taken private lessons from Ms. Alice Kay McFarland of Brookstone School in Columbus, GA and Mrs. Valerie MacPhail of Converse College, in Spartanburg, SC. Every time you begin a new piece you are practicing your sightreading, thus each time I pull out a new piece, I sight read through to get a gist, and this speeds up my process of learing my music. I have competed in the Georgia state Trio competition and placed first, and I competed in the Georgia state solo competition placing 3rd. I perform for Wynnbrook Baptist Church in Columbus, GA and I also have sung throughout the community.
