About Ryan:

I had my first exposure to tutoring in college, where I tutored other college students in biochemistry. I later was an assistant teacher at a school for children with learning disabilities and/or behavioral issues.
I love teaching and tutoring students of all ages and levels. I believe that any student can excel in any subject with good teaching and the right kind of positive encouragement.
I love education, as well I should considering I'll be a student until I'm 30! I am currently in medical school at George Washington University, and on summer break. I consider this a chance for me to take a break from my books and help others with theirs. I look forward to helping you, or your struggling student!
I am especially proficient in the sciences. I am fluent in French. I also used to be a personal trainer, so if you school is the gym, the track, or any other playing field, I'm experienced and ready to serve!

More On Ryan's Subjects:

  • anatomy

I have had over two years of anatomy in both my undergraduate education and in my current medical education. I love anatomy, and know it very well. I would love to teach in and help others understand the wonder of the human body!

  • basketball

What qualifies me most to help others in basketball is experience. I've been playing basketball since I was in elementary school. I was on my high school team and have played on several intramural teams in college. I play once or twice a week even now.

  • biochemistry

I have tutored biochemistry to college students previously. I have also just completed a medical biochemistry course at school this semester. I enjoy biochemistry and believe myself to be more than qualified to tutor other students.

  • elementary (k-6th)

I am the oldest of six children, and love working with kids. I believe that the most important thing for students of this age is to learn to like school, and to like being challenged. Many students will grow up and never use much of the material they learn in elementary school, but it is invaluable that they learn how to learn, and that they learn to enjoy it. I have experience teaching special needs children at the 6th and 7th grade level, and have worked with children of younger ages as well.

  • photography

Photography has been my hobby of choice since high school. I have been mostly self taught but have also had some formal education in photography. I would be perfect for any beginner of any age and I would love to spread the love of photography!

  • photoshop

I have been primarily self taught in this area, and am a digital photography hobbyist myself. I have digitally edited hundreds of my own photos using Adobe Photoshop.

  • physiology

This is my current and future area of expertise, as I am currently in medical school. I have taken two years worth of anatomy and physiology including general, medical, and exercise anatomy and physiology. I have a passion for it, and love teaching it!

  • track & field

I used to be a personal trainer and love fitness. I ran track as a kid, and ran varsity track in high school. I've run cross country, sprints, intermediate distances, and hurdles, as well as long and triple jump.
