About Nicole:

I am currently a graduate student at New York
University Sackler Institute for Biomedical Sciences, pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience. I did my undergraduate studies at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Biology.

In addition to studying Biology as an undergraduate, I also gained experience in tutoring. I worked at the college's Writing Center for three years, where I assisted fellow students throughout the writing process, from initial planning stages through final grammatical editing. I also worked as a tutor in the Biology department, and as a lab assistant for the General Chemistry course.

However, I'm not all brains. I have collegiate experience as a track and field heptathlete. I served as captain of my championship college team, the Greyhounds, and can offer private coaching for track events ranging from 50-800 meters, including hurdles, high and long jumps, and shot put and javelin.

I have experienced that everyone learns at their own, individual pace. Because of this, I am willing and ready to work with students, patiently working at a comfortable pace, to ensure that they won't just know information to pass a test, but rather, have a true understanding.

More On Nicole's Subjects:

  • proofreading

In college, I worked for my school's Writing Center. I earned this position by doing well in my Introduction to Writing course, a requirement for all freshman students. In order to work at the Writing Center, I had to pass a training course (Tutorship 213), proving that I had mastered all steps in the writing and revision process. I worked at the Writing Center for three years, during which time I revised papers for fellow students on all subjects, ranging from arts to humanities to the sciences. As the students I tutored were college-level writers, I feel comfortable advising students of all levels on how to improve their writing and revision skills.

  • track & field

I began my track and field career in high school, where I competed in sprints, jumps, and hurdles. During my four years in high school, I earned varsity letters in all 8 seasons (4 indoor, 4 outdoor) and was captain 3 times (2 indoor, 1 outdoor). I earned all-conference honors in my junior and senior seasons, all-county honors in my senior season, and qualified for the state championship meet all four years. In addition to competing in high school, I was also responsible for organizing all of the workouts for high and low hurdles, long jump, and sprints. It was for this dedication that I won team MVP my senior year in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. In college, I continued competing in track and field, learning throwing events to become a heptathlete. I competed in the seven heptathlon events (100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin, and 800m), and also the 400m hurdles, 400m, 4x400m relay, 4x200m relay, and 4x100m relay. I am a former school record holder in both the heptathlon and 4x200m relay. I earned 6 varsity letters in indoor and outdoor track and field. I was captain of my college indoor and outdoor track team my junior season, but unfortunately, was unable to compete my senior year due to academic conflicts.
