About
Harsha: |
Dear student or parent,
I am Harsha, a senior software engineer at Rockville, MD. I have earned bachelors and masters degrees in computer science and a PhD in interdisciplinary bioinformatics program from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA.
All along my academic career, I have enjoyed tutoring junior students on various mathematical and Computational subjects. I strongly believe everyone is born with the gift of learning and I like to inspire students by helping them see the bigger picture. Through simple analogies and examples, I not only help understand the basic foundations of the subjects I tutor, but also demonstrate the practical application of the subjects in real world and thereby invoking passion / interest in the subject(s).
Give me a try, I assure you won't be disappointed.

I have been working with computers since high school (now, I have completed bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees plus >5 years of work experience as a software engineer).
There is great potential in computers to help make our lives and work better and easier. I enjoy teaching the basic computer concepts and tricks as much as advanced computer science subjects.

I have been working with computers since high school (now, I have completed bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees plus >5 years of work experience as a software engineer).
I have successfully prepared and delivered several professional presentations using MS PowerPoint at international conferences, symposiums, workshops, R&D labs and private companies. In fact, during my early graduate school years, I even worked part-time helping professor Joe Tront to develop power point slides of his electrical circuits class course materials. I feel confident and qualified to teach PowerPoint.

Student Reviews:
Excellent Tutor
This was my first experience with a tutor and I was extremely pleased. The tutor was polite and friendly, listened to all my questions, and was very patient. He explained all the concepts to me and made sure that I understood them. He listened to all my questions and used examples to make me understand the problem and its relevance. He was easy to reach, responded quickly, was willing to work around my schedule and arrived on time. This is definitely a tutor that I intend to use again.
