About Rena:

Hello! I'm a fresh graduate from Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD, where I was awarded the top academic-and-community-leadership prizes both my junior and senior year (the Laughlin and the Flanagan respectively). I am currently attending Villanova University to earn a master's degree in systematic theology. At the Mount, I was inducted into the national Theology/Religious Studies (Theta Alpha Kappa), Philosophy (Phi Sigma Tau), and Catholic School (Delta Epsilon Sigma) Honor Societies, as well as the international literature honor society, Lambd Iota Tau.I completed and presented a senior honors project under the auspices of the college's George Henry Miles honors program, entitled "The Last Enemy: Harry Potter and the Problem of Evil."As a poet, I've been published in both my high school and college litrary magazines. I was also Editor-In-Chief of the very first issue of our undergraduate journal of theology and philosophy, Tolle Lege.I have formally tutored all subjects at the middle school level and designed and taught youth ministry/catechesis lessons at the high school level. I'm a pretty kind and patient teacher, and I love to use humor and cultural references in teaching (for example, note that my honors project was a serious literary, philosophical, and theological analysis of Harry Potter, of all things!)Ultimately, I'm a committed Catholic who loves writing, reading, philosophy, theology, and young people! I would absolutely love to help along the next great scholar: you. Good luck with everything!
