About Kimberly:

I am currently working for the School DIstrict of Philadelphia as a Special Ed teacher for middle school aged students. I am PA certified in Middle Years Math and Reading as well as Elementary Ed and Special Ed. I have 2 years experience teaching special needs students Social Studies, Reading, Writing, and Math on their independent level ranging from 1st- 8th grade. In addition to teaching 7th and 8th grade students, I have experience teaching 2nd and 3rd graders during a summer school program and after school program as well as 6th graders during my student teaching experience. I am a young professional having graduated in 2006 from Temple University. I am creative, energetic and love to find new ways to teach students the content. I also enjoy finding what helps the student to learn better, what their strengths are and how to use their strengths to help their weaknesses. These are all qualities that will enhance the learning environment when I tutor your child.

  • elementary (k-6th)

I have been a teacher in the Philadelphia School District since August of 2006. I have taught Middle School Learning Support during that entire time. This means that I have created individualized lesson plans for each of my students for each lesson for the past 2 (and a little) years. While this is time consuming, it is the best way to get results with students who are reading, writing and performing in math below grade level. My first two years teaching, I only taught 7th and 8th grade. This year, 6th grade was added to my roster. I teach reading, math, Social Studies, writing and science to my middle school students. I also teach a Yearbook class this year and taught an art class last year. In addition, I teach an after school program. This year and last year I worked with 6th-8th graders who need to improve their reading, writing and math skills. My first year I worked with 3rd grade students. I have also taught summer school at my school for the past two summers. This past summer was with middle school students and the summer prior was with upcoming 3rd and 4th graders. As a teacher, I truly feel that the lessons should and need to be specialized to best meet the students' needs. Each student learns differently and grasps concepts at different times using different techniques. Some students work best with exploratory type learning (the use of manipulatives and hands-on activities) while others need to be drilled on certain concepts in order to remember them. This is the way I create my individualized lessons for my students and its how I intend on organizing my tutoring sessions as well!

Student Feedback:

  • Kimberly Moucha is :" A Great Tutor"

My daughter Jeany and I met with Kimberly on Wednesday evening, and she was terrific, Kimberly arrived prepared with fun and educational reading material to asset Jeany's reading level. Kimberly involved Jeany through out the initial meet and greet conversation, which was great, it made Jeany feel like the tutoring session was her decision as well as mine. My daughter Jeany who is not at all fond of homework and study time, told Kimberly that she needed and wanted her help, and could not wait until they could get started on a regular basic. With that being said by my 12 year old daughter we schedule hours and days to meet immediately. I would recommend Kimberly to anyone and everyone, I just hope and pray that she would still have time available for us. Kudos and Kudos again, we appreciate Kimberly Moucha, and rate her a double 5 Thank you, Jean
