Hello! Thank you for looking at my profile! If you choose to invite me to work with your child, I guarantee that the experience will be fruitful, rewarding, and fun for all individuals involved!
I am a young, energetic, passionate special education teacher working in the Smithfield School Department. I attended Providence College for both my bachelor's degree (Elementary and Special Ed) and my master's degree (Special Ed). I graduated with my master's in May 2005 with a 4.0 GPA. I have had experience working with students in all elementary grades, and I am familiar with the development of children with and without special needs. I feel confident tutoring children of all ages and ability levels and, most importantly, I believe that the best practices I utilize every day in my career will be beneficial in helping your child thrive.
I look forward to hearing from you! |

In May 2004, I became certified in RI to teach Elementary students in grades 1-6. Since that time, I have been employed by the Smithfield School Department working in a friendly, suburban elementary school with students of all grade levels. My current position as a special educator allows me to work with different curriculums in various grade levels and it also allows me the opportunity to implement best practice teaching strategies with children with and without disabilities. I am certain that my teaching experiences, in addition to my college coursework and professional development activities, will allow me to successfully tutor your wonderful child!

phonics
|
During my bachelor's coursework (2000-2004) and my master's coursework (2004-2005), I had the great opportunity to take several course offerings on phonics. This integral part of reading development is a cornerstone of my reading curriculum and I am well-versed in the area of phonics and reading development. In 2006, I was chosen to attend a Wilson Reading Program training. This reading program is a systematic, sequential phonics program that involves hands-on learning for students who have difficulty with the reading process. My breadth of knowledge in this area will undoubtedly be useful to your child's development.

special needs
|
In May 2004, I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education (K-8). In May 2005, I received my Master's degree in Special Ed from Providence College. For three years, I have worked with students with special needs (mild-moderate range). As a result, I firmly believe that I am knowledgeable in the area of special needs and I am able to effectively tutor children with learning exceptionalities.
