Hi there,
I'm a professional linguist with 9 years experience teaching German to students ranging from middle/high school to adults,coming from all cultures and backgrounds - it is, in fact this vast diversity of students that has taught me so much, and left me richer. I taught elementary & intermediate German for 2 years at the University of Maryland at Baltimore County, and have been teaching privately ever since. I have a detailed knowledge of German and English Grammar, and can answer all your "why"s.
I've brought a number of B- students to a shining A, and D or F students to at least a C, if not B-. I design my lessons to the individual need, focusing on the weakness without neglecting the strength. I have tremendous patience, and I'm always willing to explain the same concept over and over again, many times with different approaches, till the students themselves tell me they're now confident with that aspect of grammar or language. My emphasize is always on HOW to study, and not how much. And most important, my sessions are anything but dull & dreary.
Well, with a Bachelors, Masters and passion in German language, one is left with no choice but to be good in the subject, what say?
I have native fluency in 5 languages, though I consider myself an expert teacher in only one. However, I translate from all 4 languages into English.
