I am an experienced classroom teacher and tutor, with a passion for teaching young children to read. My philosophy is that all children develop at different rates. Just as not all children are ready to be potty trained or walk at the same age, not all children develop the interest and ability to read at the same age. I have taught children as young as two to read. Others are not ready until they are six or older. If your child is showing early signs of reading readiness, yet his or her school does not offer formal reading instruction, or they are not yet attending school, I would love the opportunity to give them the foundation they need to become strong, independent readers.
