About Michelle:

I have two teaching degrees, a bachelor's in elementary education and a master's in secondary education and English/Language Arts, and I hold current certification in both areas. I graduated with honors in each degree. I am currently a composition and literature instructor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I worked from 2005-2007 in UAH's Writing Center, where I tutored undergraduate and graduate students in across-the-curriculum writing and research. I have also tutored middle and high school students and enjoy working with that age group. I love to work one-on-one with students and enjoy being able to see individual progress. I believe that building strong reading and critical thinking skills is the key to being able to express oneself in any area of life. I am well-versed in critical reading skills as well as all areas of writing, research, and the writing process. I also believe in developing a large working vocabulary and am able to aid students in preparing for exams such as the SAT and ACT.
