economics By June 2008 I will have earned a degree in Economics from the University of California at Davis. In addition to study in America, I took economics classes with a macro-international emphasis at University of Sussex, UK. These emphasized economic theory such as the banking system, theory of money and supply/demand concepts applied to trade, markets and the calculation of interest rates. ESL/ESOL I have been a part of the Partners in Acquiring Language (PAL) program at UC Davis for 3 years. The purpose of the program is to offer linguistics tutoring for recently arrived international students, or anyone in need of ESL tutoring. My duties have included helping with reading and writing homework assignments, explaining use and origin of English idioms, conversation and pronunciation practice, editing of longer academic papers, and cultural exchange through music, movies, food and pop culture. I have spent years traveling outside the US to Taiwan, Japan, Finland, England, France and a few other places, and each has had something to teach regarding linguistic communication. I take the privilege I have been afforded when traveling as an imperitive to help others communicate, and continue learning how to communicate with other people on earth with different linguistic skill sets. general music I have earned a degree in Music from UC Davis, with an emphasis in vocal performance. In addition, I have played piano for 8 years, and sung in many different choruses begin before high school and continuing through college. In 2003, I was selected as a member of the Southern California Vocal Association's Honor Choir. The UC Davis music major is exhaustive, including classes in conducting, sight-singing, musicianship, and composition. As part of the UC Davis music major, I also took many upper and lower division courses in music history beginning with the earliest written music of Gregorian chant, through Bach, romanticism, to modern day classical music. sight singing I have earned a music degree from UC Davis, one componant of which was my involvement in choirs for many years, including all 4 years of college. Additionally, 2 years sight singing and musicianship classes were required for fulfillment of the UC Davis Music Major. I am confident in my ability to communicate my knowlege and skills to aspiring singers! soccer I love to play football. If you need an assistant coach, trainer, teammate, or someone to kick it with, I'm sure we'd have a lot of fun. Credential wise, I've played soccer recreationally on 3 continents, for my high school team, and for a traveling club team for several years.
