About
Amy: |
|
I just graduated from Trinity Western University, a school in British Columbia, Canada. I majored in Applied Linguistics and received my TESL Certificate (Teaching English as a Second Language). I have had experience teaching children and adults whose native languages range from Spanish to Korean to Farsi. I love learning about people from all cultures. I am planning on entering a Master's program in the near future. I like to have fun while learning and believe that this is key especially when learning a new language. My tutoring would reflect this! |

Amy's Experience:
ESL/ESOL
|
I received my TESL Certificate in April 2008 after completing 30 credits of classroom instruction and a 30 hour practicum. I have taught children and adults, beginner and advanced English speakers in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I have experience in lesson planning and have worked with students one on one as well with a classroom of 20. Being active while learning English is incredibly important. It helps the brain associate language when actions or physical activity is incorporated. Learning English can be challenging, but it can be fun too!

grammar
|
Grammar may be one of the most dreaded subjects to learn in school. I happen to be part of the minority who really enjoys English grammar. Learning how the language you speak is put together helps you in all areas of life. I have taken several grammar courses at the undergraduate university level that have helped me to understand the rules of English.
