About Laura:

Hi! I am a graduate of UC Irvine with a B.A. in English (which is one of the most respected English programs in the nation). I graduated with a 3.8 GPA, Cum Laude honors, and an invitation to join Phi Beta Kappa, a national honors society. Currently, I am returning to UC Irvine to earn my teaching credential in order to teach high school English. Along with this, I will also be pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching. In addition to my academic background, I have had experience in teaching and tutoring professionally. I worked with middle school students in an after school center helping them to complete homework and understand their schoolwork. For several months, I have been substitute teaching in high schools, providing lessons in several different fields of study. I consider my specialty to be English and anything related to it including essay writing (and editing!), SAT reading and writing, and literature. I truly enjoy working with students! I love teaching, and I am excited to have the opportunity to tutor on an individual basis, where I feel I will be able to provide excellent one-on-one help to build confidence in reading, writing, and academics in general!
