About
Katherine: |
|
I am an undergraduate at Middlebury College in Vermont double majoring in Russian and Theatre with an extensive background in French. I have spent two years of my education abroad, one in Rennes, France and the other in Moscow, Russia, and I speak and write fluently in both languages. I have also tutored younger children in Russian, and I enjoy helping my classmates with their French compositions. I have a strong background in Theatre, having been trained in the Stanislavskian method of acting. I am also a skilled writer, having won several awards for my English compositions. I am friendly and sociable, and I enjoy meeting and working with different people. I also like and get along well with younger children. |

Katherine's Experience:
ballroom dancing
|
Ballroom dancing is a hobby of mine, and I have trained in the international standard and latin styles for two years, one year in Houston and the next while I was a student in Moscow, Russia.
I can reliably teach the basic men's and women's steps of the waltz and foxtrot, as well as the cha-cha, rumba, and jive.

Russian
|
I am a Russian/Theatre double major at Middlebury College in Vermont. I have extensive coursework in both written and spoken Russian, and last year I spent ten months living in Moscow, Russia. While abroad, I studied at the Pushkin Institute, a Russian university with a faculty specifically dedicated to helping foreigners improve their Russian. At the Institute, I took classes in phonetics, grammar, reading, Russian history, and practical conversation. I also lived with a Russian host family, who helped me immerse myself even more fully in the Russian language and culture.
I speak and write fluently in Russian, and am perfectly qualified to teach beginning/intermediate students of Russian.

I am a Theatre/Russian double major with an acting emphasis at Middlebury College in Vermont. I have a long background and good understanding of Theatre, both the technical and artistic aspects. I am trained in the Stanislavskian method of acting, and have had extensive acting coursework, on both the high school and college levels. I have also taken part in several productions over the last six years, everything from starring in A Midsummer Night's Dream and the School of Wives, to stage-managing a production of Lysistrata.
I am very qualified to teach basic modern approaches to monologue and scene work.
