elementary (k-6th) I will be certified to teach grades prekindergarten through 4th grade this May. I have successfully completed all teacher certification courses and am just waiting for the certification process to complete. I am trained in both formal and informal assessment and can use assessment knowledge to accomodate the needs of your child in all academic subject areas. I am trained to make relevant, interesting, and challenging lessons and mini-lessons that specifically address the targeted area of growth, whether it is in reading (comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, etc.), writing (the 6 Traits of good writing), math (learning math through shared problem solving and investigation), or science (inquiry, the scientific method; helping kids understand that science is not just memorizing facts, but that it is always changing). Further, I understand how to establish a warm rapport with children and how to motivate them to love learning. I have experience tutoring grades kindergarten through 6th grade (and through college level), and I successfully completed my Student Teaching internship in a 1st grade classroom this spring. study skills I am earning my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with Teacher Certification this month. I have successfully completed all of the requirements to graduate and will be graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors from an accredited university (UT Dallas). I have assisted fellow college classmates in improving their study skills in several subject areas including psychology (general, abnormal, social and personality development, child development). I am very good at teaching skills that enable a student to make high marks on multiple choice and essay tests. I use a variety of resources to study, including the text book, class notes, and notes taken during studying. I know how to focus on important details while studying. Moreover, I will be certified to teach prekindergarten through fourth grades and understand how to facilitate the study skills of elementary-aged children. I have formally tutored middle school students and elementary school students and have helped them improve their study skills.
