bass guitar I have played bass guitar in bands and church for the past fifteen years. I have tutored several students in bass for the past four years and had great results. I also took classes in orchestration at college that covered a wide variety of instruments including bass. I am comfortable tutoring from beginner to intermediate students on the bass guitar. composition (music) I began writing music after my first piano lesson when I was 5. My teacher saw the talent right away and incorporated comosition and imrovising into lessons immediately.He would have me learn the written music first, then improvise upon it or even compose my own variation of it. I did this till I was 11 or so. As I changed locations and teachers, they all had me continue to compose. At the age of 16, I recieved 2nd place for a composition in a competition against 200 other contestants. I also was able to take a master class with renowned children's and intermediate composer David Karp. Then college began and I was able to recieve composition lessons from Dr. Patrick Houlihan. I achieved all A's and one B in composition at college level. Dr. Houlihan still insists that I get a master's in composition because he likes my style very much. I might start working on that soon. drums Drums was actually the first intrument I ever undertook. My oldest brother is a drummer when I was young, he taught me lessons on how to keep rythm and read drum notation. I have played drums in both church and private band settings(weddings,concerts,etc.) for over 20 years now. I was also the drummer on a Christian album that I helped guitarist/singer/songwriter Jim Simmons record. I have taught drums for 5 years now. Throughout my college career I learned how to compose for various instruments including drums, timpani, and various other percussion instruments. ear training I was abale to start ear training very early, around the age of 9 or so. By the time I was eleven, I could transcribe 2 part Bach inventions by ear when given only the first note name of each cleff. At thirteen, I could do the same with three part inventions. I passed all the ear training parts on yearly theory tests I took through the Texas Music Teacher's Association. I took ear training all the way through high school. When i got to college, I took 4 semesters of ear training and passed every one of them with an A. I also did some tutoring for first years who were struggling with ear training. piano I started taking piano lessons around the age of 6 and continued up through college. During junior, middle and high school, My teacher was in the Texas Music Teachers Association and I was able to enter countless sompetitions. Some were against other performers and some were based on ratings. I won first place in several competitions, recieved second place at a David Karp festival, and achieved the highest rating in almost every competition that was based on ratings.Most of the time achieving a highest rating would assure me a showcase position in a recital. I also started playing piano in church when I was 12, I am now 28 and continue to do so. I went through college with piano as my principle instrument and recieved A's and B's in all my piano juries.
