About Hollee:

I am three years out of college and finally going back to what I really love....teaching. I have my Bachelors degree in Art Education and Psychology and after being in the school system for over 20 years, I decided to take a break. I explored some of my other interests like advertising, traveling and starting my own small business, but after three years of trying new things I couldn't help but find myself still wanting and loving to teach. I tutored for a little while 5 years ago for a couple 7th grade girls and was lucky enough to see them just after I took my break from school. The positive and grateful things they told me have always stayed with me and I knew someday I would want to get back into teaching Art Education. Art has many forms and brings new ideas to all of us every time we come in contact with it. I love everything from basic art forms to complicated 3D sculptures. I find that learning art vocabulary is just as important as physically creating art. I have experience mostly with grades 4 through 10 and I have just begun substituting in the Burlington Vermont District School System. I also love being active, bowling, playing cards and volunteering at the local animal shelter.

I have taken multiple classes in drawing. I know all the vocabulary and the basics to drawing in 2D and 3D, the human form, still lifes and all of the different mediums available to use during drawing. I have a portfolio with a variety of drawings and I even have many lesson plans involving drawing as the primary procedure. Drawing is used in many different work related areas in many different careers. Even basic drawing skills are used in everyday projects at most companies. Even if you don't use your drawing skills at work, there have been studies done on the relaxation of drawing. There are many positive uses for learning to draw and I would love to be able to teach that to anyone that wants to learn.
