About Ronald

Teaching is all about relationships. I am very passionate about my students and their success. My extensive knowledge and long term experience will mean nothing unless the relationship developed between us has a true sense of goals established and accomplishments achieved. If, in fact, there is communication, sharing, mutual respect, and honesty present in any relationship between a teacher and a student then true learning and understanding can and will take place. My goal will ALWAYS be to help you reach your goal and to do so with integrity and knowledge. The journey to your goal may not be easy and may require much hard work by both of us, but that will make its achievement intensely rewarding.

More On Ronald's Subjects

  • ESL/ESOL

Currently I am helping the son of a dear friend with his quest to have a better grasp of the English language. He just moved here from Columbia, South America, and is struggling with the spoken and written aspect of our language. Having been a language teacher, I have the tools to be able to teach him my native language along with the latest materials that I've recently purchased. Although very basic in content, the books that I use with this man are quite helpful. These new 'materials and books' have given me an updated glimpse into current methods and standards. Additionally, they have guided me through the process of teaching this native Spanish speaker the English language.

  • grammar

Having come through a rather strict parochial education in the 50's and 60's, I always find my grasp of English grammar quite satisfying. I was educated at a time when Grammar was not a part of the English course but was a course unto itself. This has made me a 'stickler' for using the correct pronoun, adverb, verb form, preposition, phrase, and the like, in both the written and spoken language. To present oneself as an educated individual and in a professional way, I feel, one needs to speak properly and be able to write with ease. Knowledge of grammar will give a person the tools with which to do this. I, moreover, will be able to help that person achieve it.

Student Feedback

  • great tutor on ESL

He is very responsible and prepared a lot for my first lesson. He has a great experience to teach English to foreigners. Very helpful for pronunciation, inflection and intonation.
