About
Danielle: |
|
I am a New England Conservatory graduate with both a Bachelor and Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance. I perform with New England area orchestras, as well as teach for Wellesley Public Schools, Musika, Artisan, TakeLessons, and privately from my studio in Malden, MA. I was the winner of the Harold Wright Clarinet Merit Award in 2005. Clarinet students can start when they have a strong set of teeth, usually around age 9. Adults are welcome as well, as I am qualified to teach beginner through advanced students. I expect my students to progress quickly, but in a fun, encouraging atmosphere.
I studied piano performance for 10 years with former Russian concert pianist Sergei Arzamanov, and I currently teach for Musika, Artisan, TakeLessons and privately. I welcome students of all ages! Adults are welcome, and mature children are welcome. I prefer children to be at least 8 years old, so that they are mature and able to concentrate for a private lesson. I expect my students to progress quickly, but in a fun, encouraging atmosphere.
I have studied both sight-singing (solfege) and ear-training since I was in preparatory school at the Manhattan School of Music, all the way through my Master's degree at New England Conservatory. I welcome anyone looking to improve their ears! |

ear training
|
I studied ear-training at Manhattan School of Music Preparatory School all the way through my Master's degree at New England Conservatory. I currently teach it to my piano students using Alfred's Basic Ear-Training Course. I can teach a beginner through a later intermediate in ear-training.

general music
|
I've studied and performed music since I was 9 years old. I've studied piano, clarinet, bassoon, voice, guitar, music theory, music history, ear-training, sight-singing, and conducting. I am certainly qualified to teach someone in the general music field.

piano
|
I started piano when I was 9 years old, and studied primarily with former Russian concert pianist Sergei Arzamanov, up to a very advanced level. I performed many recitals, competed in concerto competitions, and attended piano summer festivals. While I ultimately chose to go to college for clarinet performance, I have continued to play piano. I currently teach about 13 students piano, from age 4-45.

sight singing
|
I started learning sight-singing at the Manhattan School of Music preparatory program in high-school. I continued studying sight-singing, or solfege, beyond the required curriculum at New England Conservatory to Advanced Solfege. I am qualified to teach beginner through late intermediate.
