 About Francis:
Dear Searching and Struggling Student: Thank you for possibly providing an opportunity for me to be of some assistance to you in helping you achieve your academic goals. To be sure, you will find me gracious but demanding. It is for this reason that I would appreciate you carefully evaluating my credentials. You will find that I have the skills, education, experience, certification, and training to serve you efficiently and effectively as an educator, counselor, or tutor. Thirty-five years of classroom education has afforded me the opportunity to work with diversity. That is, my experiences have exposed me to populations appreciably different socially, economically, culturally, racially, and even intellectually. In fact, I have led and managed people from all walks of life by offering them a chance to increase their skills and abilities and to better themselves through the discipline of a challenging curriculum. My experiences both as a psychiatric social worker and as a business communications lecturer and my training as a school guidance counselor and as a Texas correctional officer have helped me cultivate and develop good interpersonal skills. Consequently, I can lead, and I can motivate. Other life experiences have taught me how to plan, budget, market, contract, hire and supervise. Some of these experiences include: working in Army finance, publishing student literary magazines, initiating and developing a reading and driver education curriculum, successfully owning and operating a carpentry construction business and serving Texas as a notary, as a loan officer, and as a correctional officer. You now have my resume and on-line application. All that is now needed is for you to allow me an opportunity to meet your needs. Thank you for your anticipated response, as I look forward to meeting and to working with you soon. Sincerely, Francis (Frank)

Learn More About Francis's Experience:
Bible studies
There is no other subject I enjoy teaching or studying more than sacred scripture, for I believe it to be the Word of God and the gameplan for both our life here and the hereafter.
chess
I would encourage my students to initially control the center of the board, to castle as soon as possible, and to constantly go on the offensive. For three years, I was the faculty advisor or coach of our high school chess club.
ESL/ESOL
I have taught ESL effectively by using simple English songs which allow for enjoyment and easy memory of the language.
grammar
A complete understanding of English grammar allows you to understand the structure and majesty of the language. Basically, recognizing clauses from phrases allows you to classify sentences properly. Also, identifying verbals or gerunds, participles, and infinitives is difficult. This study is important, however, as it provides you with a sophisticated review of many of the eight parts of speech. In short, if you want to be a knowledgeable and effective speaker or writer, then grammar study is essential. You can not be credible without it! Personally, I have been teaching this good stuff for 37 years, but in my high school and early college years, I didn't care about grammar one iota! Now, I do, however, as should you.
