 About Erin:
Are you or your child feeling a little lost? A lot lost? It's ok; you simply need someone to show you the way, to clear the water and to give you the tools for success. I can do that!

As a graduate of the University of Michigan, I know how it feels to be put through the academic wringer. It's so helpful to have a personal resource on your side, giving you the specific help *you* need, answering questions at the level of detail *you* require, without the pressure of being in a classroom environment.

I'm a National Honor Society member, and a pre-nursing student maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I have received over 100% in all of my classes, including Anatomy, Cellular Biology, Microbiology (lecture and lab,) Phlebotomy, Health Care Careers, Healthy Lifestyles and Techniques of Study. I have been chosen to receive a scholarship for academic excellence, and I have several letters of reference from my instructors. Additionally, I volunteer at a local Emergency Department.

I spend several hours per week tutoring my classmates, all of whom say they benefit greatly from the extra time we spend together.

Using several assessment tools, we'll discover your learning style, which we will use to create the best possible learning environment for you. My teaching style varies from student to student; some need a formal approach, while others require the freedom to explore in a more fluid manner. My primary motivation is to help the student not only get good grades, but also understand the material we're working with.

I want students to succeed; academic excellence can open many doors in life - unlock yours!

Learn More About Erin's Experience:
anatomy
I have achieved a 4.0 GPA (106%) in my Spring 2008 Anatomy course. In the fall, I plan to tutor upcoming Anatomy students at Lansing Community College. I have been informally tutoring my classmates throughout this past term, all of whom have found the time spent working with me beneficial. Additionally, I had Anatomy and Physiology in high school, and received a 4.0 there, as well. A thorough knowledge of Anatomy is vital to my future career as an Emergency Room Nurse; thus, I will maintain my level of competency in the subject.
general computer
I have worked as a computer professional for over 15 years in many capacities. While at the University of Michigan, I did first- and second-level desktop support for Macintosh, Windows and Solaris (UNIX) machines, including on-site and telephone helpdesk, UNIX systems administrator, database administrator, webmaster, hardware support and LAN administrator. At Boeing, I was a data analyst, and managed a UNIX helpdesk team, while mentoring 150 first-level Windows support technicians. I have expertise in basic and advanced computing in Windows through Vista, and hardware expertise on PC platforms.
photography
I have been a professional photographer in many different positions. I have worked for and have had photographs and articles published in Outdoor Photographer, PC Photo and Twistgrip magazines. While working at an alpaca ranch and at a wolf preserve, my photographs were used for advertisements and for commercial sales. Recently, I worked for a portrait studio, where I worked predominantly with younger children and families. I have experience with digital and 35mm formats.
study skills
Throughout my own lengthy academic career, I have found various study methods that work well for myself, and I have observed those that work well for others. Using a variety of assessments, I can help a student ascertain what type of learner he or she is - visual, auditory, kinesthetic, naturalistic, et cetera - and apply techniques targeted to that specific kind of learning. Additionally, I received a 4.0 GPA (102%) in my Techniques of Study course. This class reinforced my own good study habits, while helping me to overcome a few bad ones. We all have areas where we can improve - find yours and make your educational experience more rewarding.
