About Jason:

I have a strong background in biological/ecological science. I received a B.S. degree in Biology in 1998, an M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois in 2003, and I am currently finishing a PhD in Wildlife Ecology & Conservation at the University of Florida. In addition to my educational training, I have 4+ years of experience as an environmental educator. I have taught lessons pertaining to a variety of ecological topics to all ages and grade levels. I also have presented many ecological educational seminars to the general public, and written and published several scientific articles. I feel strongly that the most effective teaching methodology incorporates hands-on examples and draws on real-world experiences. I have lots of practical ecological research experience that I draw upon when teaching ecological concepts to others.
