About
Amber: |
|
Currently I am an assistant to the principal investigators for the Memphis Striving Reader’s Project while perusing a Ph. D in Educational Research. I plan to complete all requirements except the dissertation by the end of summer 2008.
For the past two and a half years I have been employed as a graduate assistant/ teaching assistant and summer adjunct for The University of Memphis teaching undergraduate special education courses. During the years that I have been teaching for the university I have been able to gain knowledge and an understanding of undergraduate students with many of my students requesting me for other courses. I have built a rapport with my students and have had very good evaluations from them.
I have very recent special education public school experience with the Long Beach School District and Harrison County School District. Previous to my experience in higher education, I taught Day-treatment Special Education in two elementary schools. This has been an asset for me as I have been able to relate to the undergraduate students whom I teach. I currently have a Mississippi teaching license and I am in the process of obtaining a Tennessee teaching license.
Memphis has become my permanent home and therefore, I am interested in working full time in Memphis where I can use my talent and experience to teach students.
Thank you.
