About
Nathan: |
I attended the University of California, San Diego and while I was there earned two bachelor degrees, one in Economics and another in Political Science. I have taken considerable coursework in finance, real estate, and mathematics. I have extensive experience with computers and most software applications. I am recognized by the state of California as subject-certified to teach business and hold a California state teaching permit. I can provide a Certificate of Clearance from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, which certifies that I have cleared in-depth background checks.
I am a very patient, punctual and dedicated person that has a knack for understanding how different people think and absorb information. I am confident that I can bring any subject down to a level of understanding for the student, which will enable him or her towards success.

|
During the course of my undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, I took and successfully passed four classes (amounting to sixteen credits) in statistics. In each class I earned a B-grade or better and had a 3.43 grade point average for all classes combined.
The content of these courses was as follows:
POLI 30: Research design, data collection, data description and the logic of statistical inference (including linear regression).
ECON 120A: Probability and statistics; probability and sampling theory, statistical inference, and use of spreadsheets.
ECON 120B: Basic econometric methods, including the linear regression, hypothesis testing, quantifying uncertainty using confidence intervals, and distinguishing correlation from causality.
ECON 120C: Advanced econometric methods: estimation of linear regression models with endogeneity, economic methods designed for panel data sets, estimation of discrete choice models, time series analysis, and estimation in the presence of autocorrelated and heterskedastic errors.
