Hi! I am James, a hawkeye who graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in political science. I am a recently published poet who partakes of my craft under my pen name,Brother James. Enlightened entertainment and debating matters of civic discourse are also a part of my writing repertoire. As such, I could be very helpful to someone who needs to write an essay for a test or college admission letter. I am currently available as a tutor. Previously, I have been a substitute teacher at the elementary and high school levels along with tutoring adults studying for the G.E.D. I look forward to meeting you. Peace be with you. |

Church congregations spanning two denominations have entrusted me with teaching Sunday school to both children and adults. As a result, I have years of practice with helping people learn of the scriptures.
Experience has shown me that bible study, of the King James version in particular, is a natural tool towards developing other academic areas. For instance, it often uses comparison and contrast that strengthens reading comprehension. Another example, is its use of phonics in the words written in it. Furthermore it is a good example of concise writing. The Holy Bible truly is a good source for both spiritual and natural learning.

I have become astute with the use of grammar by default. My background consist of many writing projects, both employment related and personal, that have made practice of grammatical principles necessary. As a result, this is a subject that I work with on a regular basis.
