Practice makes perfect! Growing up with one parent as a math professor, I heard this motto at least once per week. Looking back, Dad really was giving me sound advice. Mom took a different approach: she had me practicing the piano every day for at least an hour. The routine was habit-forming and helped to improve my focus and drive.
Throughout my educational history I exceeded average standards of performance, especially in sciences and math. These talents helped me to earn a Chemical Engineering degree in 2001 from a very good school. Even now, as a manager, I am learning something new every day by practice.
I do have experience teaching from previous jobs. During high school, I assisted my father with a summer mathematics program. The program was fast-paced; while only 5 weeks long, an entire year of math was taught to middle school students. My job was to correct homework assignments and to tutor students as needed.
During college, I taught computer-related subjects, such as Microsoft Office and HTML, to middle school students as part of a two-week program.
When I am explaining any subject to another person, I encourage them to ask questions and to take notes. I always try to find ways to make the subject easy to understand and easy to remember.
