I am a mother of two young kids and a student at Monterey Peninsula College working on an undergraduate degree in Biology. I am a very athletic person, playing basketball, roller hockey and tennis in school. I also took several AP classes including government and chemistry.
I like to use examples in teaching and things that pertain to the students interest to help fully understand things. i.e. if you are intrigued by basketball, then I would use basketball terminology to describe a triangle in math, etc. I think there is more to learning than simply showing how to do something and leaving it to the student to figure out.

  I was a starting point guard for four years in high school. I also played a single season of junior college basketball, position swing, or shooting guard. I continue to keep up playing in local recreational leagues. Basketball is a sport I have always enjoyed playing and had a natural skill in. I love playing with my 3 year old daughter, although she can only dribble right now. I have recently inquired about coaching youth leagues at the community center and hope to start in the fall.

  3 years ago I started working for a non profit baseball team doing all of their graphic design work. I have never taken any classes in Photoshop, but managed to teach myself how to use the program.
