general music I taught General Music for seven years for Jr. High School students. I have a Ph.D. in Musicology which includes music history, music theory, music appreciation, accoustics, history of instruments and composers. grammar I taught English for 10 years. I also worked as an editor for a large CPA firm's Systems Management Department. As a teacher of English and subsequently as an editor, I was constantly correcting English usage. I have also done considerable academic writing myself and am quite aware of the rules of grammar. music history I have taught Music History to college students both as an Assistant Professor and, before that, as a Teaching Assistant for USC's Music History Department. I have a Ph.D. in Musicology from USC. religion One of my pet studies is that of Comparative Religions. Besides the reading I've done on my own, I've been to the Bloy House Episcopalian Seminary to study the History of Ritual in the church. I've also had courses in Christian Mysticism and have read in other religions. I am a practicing Christian in the Episcopalian Church. study skills I have incorporated Study Skills into every class I ever taught (over 20 years)in order to help students learn their subjects. Years ago I was a teacher for Evelyn Woods Reading Dynamics which emphasized good study skills, as well as rapid reading. I understand how to use study time effectively and how to prepare for both essay and objective tests.
