GED While at Kit Carson Correctional Center, I taught ABE 3 and was involved in GED preparation. At Lindsey State Jail, I assessed student academic performance with the Test of Adult Basic Education. grammar As a certified English teacher, I have come to recognize and understand the value of grammatical structure to effective communication. I am much more able to understand, pursue, and encourage correct grammatical use at this time than I was earlier in my teaching career. As a classroom teacher of youth and adults, I have extensive experience in creating activities that provide for the use of correct grammatical structure. Facility with grammatical structures directly impacts on writing and speaking. The use of grammatical structures creates and sustains the flow of communication using either written or spoken formats. proofreading Not only did I complete my own 150 plus page dissertation which had to completedly comply with APA guidelines, but I also prepared, as a graduate student and a researcher, numerous papers/reports that were relatively error-free. I also provided editorial support to students at Southern Illinois University. study skills As a doctoral student in Human Learning, I mastered the application of study skills and investigated the relationship of study skills to the mastery of course content. I taught study skills as part of a class, Student Success and Career Planning, at a southern Illinois college. I have also directed the study skill development and application of numerous middle and high school students.
