About Teri:

I have taught Special Ed. English for over 25 years. English includes Reading Comprehension, Literature, vocabulary and grammar. I love reading and the world that are opened up to us in books. Now, I realize that reading is not high on the list of chosen pastimes of most teens,but I look at that as a personal challenge! I also have taught Study Skills for several years. Teaching that class I came to learn how sad it is that so many very bright young people have no idea how to study or to approach an assignment. Seeing their satisfaction after having completed an assignment or doing well on a test we had studied for was as rewarding to me as it was to them. In teaching Study Skills I worked in every subject area, although I was best in History. I have a relaxed teaching style, but definitely get the job at hand done well! I must say that I get along well with all of my students. Teaching kids with mild Learning Disabilities has taught me that each student is different. Each student has his own learning style and must be approached from their individual strengths and weaknesses. I have always loved working with young people, that is what keeps me young. Seeing a student's pleasure and self-confidence after surmounting a difficult task is what keeps me teaching.
