I am a 21 years old and I am of Latino descent. I speak both Spanish and English fluently. The major that I acquired is in Sociology. I chose this major because I wanted to learn and study about human interaction and behavior in order to eliminate all the preconceived notions about others. I feel extremely passionate about teaching because I know though personal experience how much a teacher can influence the lives of their students. And I believe that I have a unique background that will inspire students who are struggling academically to look at the future with some sense of hope. I was one of those students who grew up in bad neighborhoods where gangs are prevalent. I believe if the teacher can relate with his or her students lives, they will feel more motivated to learn.
