grammar As an English teacher I have taught grammar as a part of every grade level. I can concentrate on problem areas with your student or we can work on grammar assignments. There are some helpful hints that I can offer to help improve a student's grammar skills and make it easier for him/her. phonics As an English teacher I have taken linguistics and language acquisition classes that have prepared me to teach phonics. I have developed a variety of teaching methods to help students read and pronounce words by learning the phonetic make-up of single letters, groups of letters, and dividing words into syllables. proofreading As an English teacher have proofread many different types of writing. I can help a student organize and "clean up" their piece of writing. I can correct grammar, spelling, and other mechanical errors to make the paper polished. I can help with content so the paper flows and reads professionally. study skills I have taught study skills to a variety of grade levels over my 14 years of teaching. I can help students with note taking, preparing for tests, getting organized, and other helpful hints to make a student more successful in all subject areas.
