About Charles:

I have taught many courses in Biological Sciences for 33 years at Penn State U., Carnegie-Mellon U., and Hastings College (NE), including biochemistry, human physiology, embryology, histology, entomology, plus many more. I am an extremely dynamic classroom and laboratory teacher, able to put out high-powered lectures that go beyond the text book, stimulate critical thinking and problem solving processes, and motivate and prepare the student for advanced training. I am always available to my students for personal tutoring by which I guide them through the subject matter through self-discovery. My M.S and Ph.D. are in Entomology from Penn State University, and my research and publications concern the evolution and systematics of beetles.
