Through the sponsorship of local colleges and universities (including Rutgers and Drexel in New Jersey and Pennsylvania) I teach reading enrichment classes to eight age groups, ranging from pre-readers (4 years old) up through and including adults (college and graduate students, and adult professionals). For every level that I teach I have the same two goals: to develop the reading skills of my students, and to instill, build, and fortify a love of reading in them. Because young adult students need to absorb and master large quantities of information, I also coach older students in study skills, speed-reading, and time management. I also teach my students how to navigate a textbook chapter, take notes, and write academic papers based on their study notes.
