About Debby:

I completed a BFA degree in studio art and communication design from Univ. of Tennessee, Knoxville. I received a certificate in Interactive media in 2003 from a local Junior College accredited by Univ. of Kansas. I have training in Photoshop through my design job which I have held for 30 years. I was introduced to the first version of Photoshop in late 1980's for work. I continue to attend classes in Photoshop whenever there is an upgrade. I am very creative and trained as an artist. I love to work with others to teach them Photoshop. I feel very comfortable with this software and use it in my job 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Being trained as an artist since a child, I can help with design principles in using Photoshop's features, as well as technical applications in photography and artwork. My son has learning disabilities. Through his own learning style, as an example, I have great flexibility with all styles of learning. I am not the fastest learner but am persistent and will keep trying so I will have great patience and problem solving skills in helping you learn what you want at your own speed and comfort level and will go over material until you feel comfortable to move to the next level. There is always more than one way to accomplish a task in Photoshop so if you are comfortable with keyboard shortcuts you may want to learn them, or your style may be to utilize pull down menus. There is also a graphics tablet you can add to enhance/refine art that takes a gentler touch than our "soap on a rope" etch-a-sketch feeling from doing art with a mouse.
