I'm a NJ-certified elementary teacher who is looking for new tutoring students. I have 6.5 years experience as a classroom teacher and now I'm a full-time tutor within my school district. I provide in-class support to a second-grade classroom in the morning and in the afternoon I take first and second-graders out of their classrooms to tutor them in Reading and Math. I have prior tutoring experience aside from this newly-appointed position - for four years I was a tutor for various SES programs that were located at my school in Newark, NJ. I'm currently providing private tutoring to a second-grader twice a week after school. I'm looking to add new students to my schedule. It is my quest to not only have your child improve test scores, but improvement in school in general.
I hold a BA in English from Montclair State University, which is located in Upper Montclair, NJ. I graduated in 1997.

I have 6.5 years experience as a classroom teacher. My first year of teaching was spent in a Kindergarten classroom. After that I was a Second-Grade teacher. Now I'm a full-time tutor with the same school district. I also have experience as an after school tutor, both for public companies and with private students in their homes.

I teach phonics daily to elementary-aged students. It's a big part in getting them to learn to read.

I teach proofreading skills to elementary-aged students during Writer's Workshop. It's the fourth step of the Writing Process.

softball
|
I grew up playing softball and I am currently an assistant coach with my daughter's team. I also was the head coach of little league softball, in 1994 and 1988.
