About Nina:

I received tutoring myself in high school to aid my struggles in some subjects and reminiscing that fact made me want to explore my strengths as a tutor, or at least someone willing to help another. I am on the path to becoming certified to teach middle grades history and am equally eager to study and teach other aspects of history as well. I undertook Advanced Placement courses in high school studying American history and then European history. This paved the way for the Bachelor's of Arts degree in History from the University of West Georgia, which I received in 2005. I realize that history is possibly the least liked or appreciated course for students nowadays. I strongly believe that more hands-on work that engages students in learning about their history would truly help them be more open to learning in ALL subjects. For history/geography would be the creation of their own maps of the world, then allow them to explore abilities in making their own world. Cultural awareness is vital to studying geography and history for once a child's mind is exposed to the differences that exist between mankind in religion and lifestyle, they would be more susceptible and accepting. My only goal would be to enlighten a student to the advantages of fully knowing where they come from, and to appreciate the impact history has made on society today.
