About

Hi! My name is Bethany and I am a tutor for studies in Music and English. After receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University in May 2008, I will be pursuing a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance. As an undergraduate, I have completed extensive coursework in music theory, music history, ear training, English literature and drama, and literary theory. In addition to tutoring in these areas, I teach voice lessons for all ages and general introductory music & creative movement lessons for younger children. I have also developed effective research and study skills, and I teach my students the importance of organization and time management.
I have experience working with children in extracurricular settings. Last summer, I worked as a camp counselor at the Arlington Center for the Arts, where I helped teach music, drama, and art lessons. I have also taught private toddler music lessons. As a high school student, I helped teach choreography for the Lynnfield Community Schools theatrical productions.
I finished my undergraduate studies by completing a forty-page honors thesis. This project ties together my interests in English literature and opera. I believe that the arts and humanities are a vital component of a child's education, and I am eager to share my knowledge and passion for the arts with you! Please contact me to set up a tutoring appointment. |
