C++
I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science and C++ is the primary language that I use. I have years of experience coding in C++ for school assignments and worked for Microsoft for 1 year, coding in C++. I have several years of tutoring high school and college age students in C++, and even one middle school student.
discrete math
I have taken several discrete math courses, and studied the topic extensively in college, doing well in all related classes. I have retained the textbooks from these courses and am able to work with students effectively in this subject.
ear training
I have 20 years of piano and music theory experience, as well as 5 years of several other instruments. I have spent 7 years directing and participating in a cappella singing groups, where I write most of our music and I've taken a college course in music theory as well as several independent courses. Within my job as musical director of an a cappella group, I have taught several students about ear training and how to read music.
general computer
I am currently a 3rd year PhD student in Computer Science. I have spent years using a variety of operating systems, from Windows to Linux to Mac, and have built 10s of computers. I manage 5-10 computers at any given time, and am familiar with most of the common programs that people use in their day to day lives.

GRE
I scored perfectly on the analytical and math section of the GRE, and understand very clearly the adaptive, computer-based format of the test. I can help students to understand how to leverage the format of the test, how to effectively study for each section, and how to improve the skills necessary for each type of problem.
html
I have written several webpages in pure html, with and without the addition of scripting languages such as asp, javascript, php, etc. I have written database web pages, and I can develop web pages using tools such as DreamWeaver and Frontpage as well as with a simple text editor.
LSAT
I took the LSAT several years ago and received an excellent score. I specialize in teaching how to master the analytical section, a common difficulty for pre-law students. I also am able to effectively teach problem-solving skills as well as practice/study skills for all other sections.

networking (computer)
As a 3rd year Computer Science PhD student, I have spent a good deal of time on network programming, for both Windows and Unix environments. I can explain networking concepts both in the context of a networking class with textbook and assignments, and in the context of setting up a home network and computer system.
piano
I have 20 years of piano and music theory experience, as well as 2-15 years of several other instruments, including flute, trombone, ukulele, and voice. I am qualified to teach students to read music, and to give introductory piano lessons, through the first few years of study.
sight singing
I have 20 years of piano and music theory experience, as well as 5 years of several other instruments. I have spent 7 years directing and participating in a cappella singing groups, where I write most of our music and I've taken a college course in music theory as well as several independent courses. This explains my background in music.
With specific regards to sight-singing, I direct currently a group of 18 people, and my purpose there is to lead them in sight-singing songs that I have arranged (written) so that they can be performed for paying audiences. I have taught sight-singing to a number of members of such groups, current and past.
study skills
I rely on good study skills in order to perform well on standardized tests, in college and high school, and even in day-to-day work. I an effectively teach how to manage one's time from day to day, and how to effectively do homework and study for tests. I can also teach tips and tools for studying for standardized tests, such as the LSAT, SAT, GRE. etc. I can also teach test-taking tools, in addition to study tools, for students who have trouble with standardized tests.
