The Biblical faith is very different from the concept that most of the people have.
For example:
- Faith is not a personal effort.
- Faith it is not the will and capacity to obtain objectives.
- Faith is not hope and optimism, so that the facts happen as desired.
- No human being is born with Faith nor obtains it by works or merits.
At this point, you will be asking… then, what is?
The faith, says the Bible, is a gift from God for all of those who He is pleased to flatter. (Ephesians 2:8)
It is the power of God, to believe to him to, the very different one to believe in God (the demons also believe, but they don’t have faith). (James 2:19)
The faith implies knowledge of the word of God, therefore, it is not ignorant nor blind; it’s necessary to know what God has said and done, to be able to believe to him.
But Faith is more than just to agree with certain truths or concepts, is a personal, live, intimate, objective and historical relationship, that the Lord Jesus Christ establishes with a person, gaining his confidence, since he is the author of the faith.(Hebrews 12:2) This confidence (faith) is expressed in the obedience to the person that the biblical God says.
A typical example of faith is Abraham, to whom God said: leave everything, your country and your family, and go to a land that I am going to show you. Abraham left without knowing where he was going, trusting that God was faithful. Genesis 12
Analyzing the previous thing, we conclude that, the biblical God builds relationships with people by means of its word, communicating its will and giving as well, the clarity and the decision to accept and to obey.
I want to encourage people to study the bible, not only because is the word of God for Christian people, revealing important things to our lives, but because this book is singular, it’s a historical and literary treasure for Humanity. And very exiting!!!!
