It is important to gain knowledge through education and to always ask for help whenever necessary.
Education is important in everything we do. We learn by reading, talking, listening and just “being.” I believe that true learning forms the basis of who we are. Unlocking the answers to life’s important questions is not an easy assignment for any student. Nor should it be. But, as a teacher/tutor, I have come to believe that knowledge lets you speak out effectively and have your opinions heard.
How to effectively educate students has become a question that is asked in classrooms around the world. And my question then becomes what is the best technique to use with each of my individual students since each one of them is a unique individual. What works with one student will not necessarily work with the next one. The use of a variety of teaching methods is essential; always keeping in mind that the aim of education should be to teach students how to think rather than what to think and eventually how to think for themselves.
I feel that it is of utmost importance in every classroom to insist that students ask questions. A student that feels comfortable asking questions and challenging the information that he is presented is the real learner in every classroom and in every subject. Questions allow us to make sense of the world. They are the most powerful tools we have for making decisions and solving problems and for changing and improving our lives as well as the lives of others.
I help my students to understand that education does not end in the classroom. It is a lifelong experience that they will be confronted with each day of their lives. I encourage my students not to be afraid to ask for help. Learning and questioning will inspire self-confidence and provide them with the skills they will need to become active and productive individuals in today’s world. Being well-informed and well-educated will make them more self-reliant and more aware of the rights and opportunities that will allow them to become better human beings.
I currently tutor two individuals in chemistry and reading.

I approach teaching and learning from a point of respect for the student and who she or he is as a learner. As a tutor, I am an advocator of active learning and therefore, I use a variety of methods to encourage discussion and interaction on the issues the subject presents. The goal is to create an environment where students feel safe to candidly discuss topics, which they might otherwise be hesitant to address. I have several years experience with elementary level education. I have tutored in mainly mathematics, science, English, and grammar at this level. I am an elaborate educator and I do my best to touch every aspect of the student’s difficulties. Elementary children are young so I feel the best way to keep them interested in the tutoring session is to use learning aids that will grab their attention (i.e. candy, toys, etc.). I am very committed to providing a learning environment that is both exciting and rigorous, one that empowers both student and teacher in pursuing learning. I devise various assessment strategies that allow me to fairly assess student learning regardless of the student's learning styles.
