About Deborah:

I have worked as a tutor for English as a Second Language and Citizenship classes. I also have student taught in an elementary school ESL classroom and have worked in preschools. I am fluent in Spanish, have high intermediate level French skills, and am studying Chinese in Shanghai right now. I will be returning in July to Boulder and would like to begin work as soon as possible when I return to the United States. My undergraduate major was Spanish with a minor in Linguistics- Teaching English as a Second Language. I will receive my Master's degree in Journalism in August 2008. I have worked with diverse populations in both volunteer and professional roles. My tutoring style is structured to the specific needs and skill set of each student. I will evaluate the student's level and deficiencies, determine what style of learning works best for them- do they prefer hands-on or do they work better with an auditory or visual method.

I have worked as a tutor in a volunteer capacity and have worked within an elementary school in the ESL classroom.
