First off, I'm not sure what name is on my profile, but it should read Mar-Teena Harris. I go by Teena (pronounced like Tina). So, don't let the name scare you off :)
I have loved sports since I can remember. I played softball, volleyball, and basketball while growing up. In high school, I decided to pick basketball to focus on. With that decision and dedication, I made JV my freshman year, and was later moved up to Varsity by the end of the season. I was the second highest scorer on the team.I was also chosen to play on an all-star, travel team for 3 years. We played all over the U.S. I helped coach a team my senior year. I have also coached for 5 years at an elementary school.
I didn't realize how much I enjoyed math until high school. I had always done poorly prior to that. Now I substitute at a high school in La Porte and you will usually see me teaching a math class.
I also teach all subjects in the La Porte School District in grades k-12. |
