ESL/ESOL I have a Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) and Bilingual Education from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. I have taught ESL at the university level, both in the United States and in Japan, for five years. I am comfortable teaching all levels of ESL from beginning (no English ability) to advanced including TOEFL preparation. I speak both Spanish (fluently) and Japanese (intermediate). grammar As an ESL teacher at the university level, I have taught grammar classes at Georgetown University in their Intensive English Program. I have taken Masters courses in syntax (the structure of language), discourse analysis, and language acquisition. I also have a thorough understanding of grammar from my studies of Spanish, which I majored in as an undergraduate, and Japanese. TOEFL The TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) is important for any international student who is considering attending an American undergraduate or graduate program. I teach students skills and strategies for tackling all sections: reading, listening, writing AND speaking as well as important time management skills. I have taught TOEFL preparation classes at a local university for two semesters. With a strong background in linguistics and ESL (Master's in TESOL), I am well-qualified to guide you to success on the TOEFL!
