I have taken classes for 3 years at IUSB and truly enjoy learning all kinds of subjects. I am majoring in English, but still a few years away from my degree. I love reading and writing and feel that I could proof-read and help critique essays for classes in a way that would not just fix your paper, but TEACH you how to continuously improve on your writing skills, which are crucial to any good job.
Although, I have never tutored before, I am very experienced to help others solve homework problems or, as I said before, proof-read papers for them. As far as my editing skills, I was on my high school newspaper's staff for 3 years and was Editor-in-Chief for my senior year. I am extremely easy to get along with and work well with children, teens and my peers.
I feel very confident in my ability to tutor students of all ages in subject areas that I am skilled in and hope that you will contact me for all your academic needs.
As for my teaching style, I have always found that it adapts to the needs of the person being tutored. If they need to see a problem done, and then they figure it out, I simply demonstrate. Others, need to physically do every problem and for them, I would simply walk them through it a few times, and then when they were stuck, ask them questions to help them figure out the next step for themselves. I read the needs of students very well and know that this ability helps me a lot in discovering new ways to teach individuals the material that they need to learn.
